Frequently Asked Questions

I am an integrative relational therapist. This means I adapt the work to suit your needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic theories such as Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory. I believe that our therapeutic relationship is central to the work we do together. It is a dynamic and transformative space, not just for reflection but for direct emotional and relational experience, allowing for profound self-understanding and growth.

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. This allows us to work through the issues at hand while ensuring a productive and manageable experience.

The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Generally, clients attend weekly sessions, but this can be adjusted to suit your availability, finances, and progress.

If you’re feeling uncertain please contact me for a free initial consultation. During this session we can talk through what brings you to therapy, consider your hopes for the work, and see whether it feels like the right fit for you at this time.

In your first full therapy session we’ll begin to explore your experiences in more depth and start to build a therapeutic relationship. Having already discussed your reasons for coming to therapy and how I work during the consultation, this session offers space to focus more fully on what feels most important to you right now, at a pace that feels manageable.

Yes, confidentiality is fundamental to the therapeutic process. I will not disclose any personal information without your consent, except in specific circumstances where there may be a risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law. You can read more about confidentiality in my privacy notice.

You can contact me directly via text message, WhatsApp, or my contact form. I will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible to arrange a suitable time.

Yes, currently I am only able to offer online sessions. In the near future I hope to be able to offer face to face sessions in my private garden studio for those that would like to meet in person. If you would like more details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Therapy can be very effective in helping you gain clarity, process emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies. The success of therapy depends on many factors, including your capacity to engage in the process and the therapeutic relationship we build together. I’ll always strive to create a safe, supportive space for you.

I have significant experience of working with neurodivergent clients, including, but not limited to ADHD and autistic individuals, at varying stages of diagnosis and none. My practice emphasises compassion, and I recognise that neurodiversity is a key aspect of what makes each person unique. These differences in how people think, feel, and experience the world are valuable and should be respected. My approach is tailored to honour and support your distinct ways of perceiving and interacting with the world. The goal is to create a therapeutic space where you can express yourself authentically, without pressure to conform to neurotypical expectations, and to empower you to navigate the world in a way that feels right for you.

The duration of therapy varies from person to person and depends on the nature of the concerns you're addressing. Some clients may attend for a few sessions, while others may choose to work together for several months. We’ll regularly review your progress and discuss how long therapy is likely to be helpful for you.

I don’t offer therapy for children, but I do have experience working with individuals aged 16 and over. If you are 16 or 17, you are usually considered able to consent to therapy independently in the UK, though I always ensure that clients fully understand what therapy involves and what to expect before proceeding.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsure about our work together, I encourage you to let me know so we can address any concerns. Your comfort and well-being are paramount.

If there's anything you want to know that I haven’t covered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — I’m always happy to answer your questions and will get back to you as soon as I can!
